This is a typical Kar Wai Wong film.Even some of the music is borrowed from In the mood for love.I have long been a Kar Wai Wong film fan.This is his first English language film.But the Kar Wai Wong style is still there.This movie seems to have met before.The Rachel Weisz part make me think of Texas,Paris the moment I heard the monologue.The idea crossing the America is not fresh either.As to Norah Jones,her role is just like Amélie.But there's something sweet in all these.Unlike Amélie who tries to help others,Elizabeth is merely a witness to all those things,aiming at finding a way to say goodbye to her failure in love.When she finally think herself prepared to say goodbye,the person who broke her heart is not there any more,and it's time to start a new relationship with Jude Law If you want to see something serious,I'm sorry,you may be disappointed.But if you just enjoy the atmosphere in a romantic movie,you will be satisfied.But it doesn't mean that it's a popcorn movie.Apart from the typical Kar Wai Wong style scenes,music,there's something to think over.You will think of something,think of your own love story in this story.The performances are wonderful.Rachel Weisz makes you into the mood the moment she walks into the bar.David Strathairn is wonderful.Natalie Portman makes you know that she is a real actress with great talent(maybe someone will be uncomfortable to her chang

B:It's nothing wrong with the blueberry pie.Just people make other choices,you can't blame the bluebreey pies.Just no one wants it.
How did you say goodbye to someone you can't imagine living without?I didn't say goodbye.I didn't say anything.I just walked away.At the end of that night,I decided to take the longest way to cross the street.
A:How come you're working so hard?Lizzy.
G:I am trying to save up for a car.
A:Where are you going?
G:I don't have any particular destination in mind.But I just gonna go till I ran out places to go.
A:Why not pick up the phone?
G:Some things are better on paper.
I guess for Sulin,leaving this town was like dying.I wonder how many people would remember Arnie.When you're gone,all that left behind are memories created in other people's lives,or just couple items on the bills.
I always have the feeling I can say anything to you,enclosed with the bills I created for you,in memory of our time together.I wonder how you remerber me.As a girl who like blueberry pies?or the girl with a broken heart?
C:You still have the keys?
B:Yea..I aways remember what you said about never throwing them away,about never closing those doors forever.I remember.
C:Sometimes even you have the keys.Those doors still can't be opened,can they?
B:Even if the door is opened,the person you're looking for may not be there.
A fews years ago,I had a dream.It began in the summer,and it was over by the following spring.In between there were many unhappy nights as they were happy days.Most took place in this cafe.And then one night,the door was shut and the dream was off.
I have always been fascinated by card players.They risk everything on their instincts and their luck.I wonder if I would be them to make the same moves if I was in their position,or I just throw.
D:Trust everyone,but always cut cards.That thing my father never taught me.You know what that means?It means never trust anybody.
G:If you're so good at reading people..
D:Then why I lose?
G:Yes.
D:'Cause you can't always win.You can beat players,but you can't beat luck.Sometimes you read them off.You read person right,but you still did the wrong thing.
G:Because you trust them?
D:Because you can't even trust yourself.
G:Where are the keys?you don't keep them any more?
B:I've always trying to give them back to their owners.Do you want yours?
G:No,I don't need them any more.What about your keys?
B:I got rid of them.
It took me nearly a year to get here.It wasn't so hard to cross that street after all.It all depends on who's waiting for you on the other side.

My Blueberry Nights is a 2007 film directed by Wong Kar Wai,starring Norah Jones and Jude Law.It also features Rachel Weisz,Natalie Portman and David Strathairn.The director describes it as "a story of a woman who takes the long route instead of the short one to meet up with the man she loves." It is Wong's first film in English.
My Blueberry Nights was the opening film for the 2007 Cannes Film Festival on May 16,2007.
Plot
A young woman (Jones) takes a soul-searching journey across the United States to resolve her questions about love while encountering a series of offbeat characters along the way.The film is loosely based on an earlier short film followed by the character Jones portrays as she works in several restaurant settings and learns of the trials and tribulations of true love.
Production
Singer Norah Jones was the only choice for the leading role despite her lack of prior acting experience.Chan Marshall also makes her acting debut in the film.
Lawrence Block wrote the screenplay for the film.Otto Penzler of The New York Sun stated that
"Block has stepped a bit outside the mystery world to write a movie for Wong Kar-Wai,the first Chinese to win the Best Director Award at the Cannes Film Festival.My Blueberry Nights is a romantic road film,with a young woman making a soul-searching trip across America and encountering a series of charming and bizarre characters.Norah Jones stars in her first motion picture,which is chock-full of today's A-list of good-looking actors and actresses,including Jude Law,Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman.Since Mr.Block no longer writes two or three crime novels a year,as he did in the 1970s and '80s,this charming movie will have to hold his fans for a while.It will be released late summer or early fall...."[2]
The film was shot in the United States,including locations in Los Angeles,California and McGill,Ely and Caliente,Nevada; in Caliente at the Brandin' Iron [3] restaurant.It was also largely filmed at the Palacinka Cafe [4] in SoHo,New York City.[5] Some scenes were shot at the restaurant The Arcade [6] and the Bar Ernestine and Hazel's [7] in Memphis.[8][9]
